Summer Schools in Evolutionary Biology (1-19 August 2011)
The Genome Biology and Evolution Summer School is open to students who have finished the first year of a Bologna Master's degree program (students from outside Bologna degree countries should enquire about eligibility). The Gulbenkian Foundation is co-sponsoring this with the Volkswagen Foundation and will cover room and board for selected students (40 in all), as well as travel expenses within Europe. The course will be at the IGC. The deadline for applications is June 15.
2010: International Year of Biodiversity
The United Nations declared 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB). It is a celebration of life on earth and of the value of biodiversity for our lives.

Genetic diversity - an invisible natural force
The following film was created as part of the celebrations of 2010 as the «International Year of Biodiversity» under the supervision of Prof. Paul Schmid-Hempel, Institute for Integrative Biology IBZ, ETH Zurich.
The film is a Genetic Diversity Centre and Life Science Zurich co-production.
