The Genetic Diversity Centre (GDC) provides a professionally operated technology and knowhow facility for the study of genetic diversity in many different systems at today’s frontiers in research.

The GDC was initially founded in 2008 by the Institute of Integrative Biology (IBZ). Since 2009, it is officially a technology and service platform of the D-USYS. It provides infrastructure and customized support for research projects in the field of genetic diversity with a wide range of technical expertise. In addition it is educating scientists in various molecular techniques and the analysis of genetic and genomic data.
The well equipped molecular user laboratory and the comprehensive computational solutions as well as the custom-tailored support in the laboratory and in bioinformatics are open to all academic institutions within Switzerland. Check the GDC website for more details.
